- Date:

Summary
Final-stage preparation procedure intended to ensure operational objectives, retained resources and extraction requirements are reviewed before leaving an active deployment.
Purpose
Extraction represents the final phase of an operation. Completion of the primary objective does not automatically constitute successful extraction.
Pre-Extraction Review
Before beginning extraction, personnel should confirm:
Objective
Primary objectives have been completed or a decision has been made to terminate the operation.
Resources
Required resources and recovered material have been accounted for.
Equipment
Equipment remains in a condition suitable for completing the extraction phase.
Communications
Team communications remain available.
Extraction
The intended extraction point or completion method has been identified.
Priority
During the final phase of an operation: "Protect the objective. Preserve operational capability. Complete the extraction." Additional objectives should not automatically override the original mission requirement.
Post-Operation
Following extraction, personnel should report significant equipment or resource issues to LOG for review. Repeated issues may result in changes to future deployment configurations.
