Purpose
Not all information is intended for the same audience. The transmission classification system identifies the intended distribution level of information.
Public
Information approved for unrestricted public distribution.
VTF Internal
Information intended for VTF personnel and internal organisational use.
Operational
Information directly associated with an active or developing operation.
Intelligence
Information requiring intelligence review, analysis or controlled distribution.
Classification Principle
"Classification determines distribution." The presence of a classification does not automatically indicate sensitivity. It identifies the intended communication boundary. Personnel should avoid distributing information beyond the audience for which it was prepared.
